This session explores the college music experience from the perspective of someone diagnosed with ADHD later in their music education journey. We'll discuss common challenges faced by students with ADHD in this demanding environment, and the "aha moment" of understanding past experiences through the lens of ADHD. Through experimentation and research, we'll delve into practical strategies that can be used to manage ADHD and thrive in music education, focusing on time management, study habits, and assistive technology. This session is valuable for all music educators, offering a deeper understanding of ADHD and a toolbox of strategies to support themselves and their students.
