Thursday, January 23, 2025
5:00 PM - 5:45 PM

Description
Join us for an immersive session on cultivating a thriving music education organization (ACDA, NAfME, ASTA, etc.) within your college community. Discover practical strategies and insights to empower student leaders, engage members, and foster a vibrant community on campus. Learn from student leaders at Central Michigan University on how they built their music education organization from a few members to a flourishing community growing passionate future music educators. CMU students participating in these organizations are incredibly involved in professional opportunities throughout the state due to the powerful foundation established by industrious student work. From recruiting passionate members to orchestrating impactful events, we'll share practical tips and stories to help your organization reach its potential. Student organizations thrive in community involvement; we will talk about organizing a conference trip with your student chapter, how to create a successful fundraiser, and finding fulfilling volunteer opportunities. Whether you're a seasoned organizer or just starting out, this session offers valuable guidance on navigating challenges, building partnerships, and maximizing impact. Let's harmonize our efforts to shape the future of music education together!
