There are seven common barriers to success that horn players frequently encounter in secondary music instruction. These bad habits detract from student successes and can impact the achievement of band programs. In this presentation, Dr. Hunt will discuss best practices to start students correctly and easy solutions for students who already have these problems. Topics to be discussed include tone, posture, switching between horn and mellophone, and proper use of the double horn.
