Choral Creativity: Composition, Arranging, and Improvisation in the Choir Classroom

Saturday, January 24, 2026
9:00 AM - 9:45 AM

Description
"Create" is one of the core artistic processes in state and national standards, but composition, arranging, and improvisation can be hard to fit into busy performance schedules. This session focuses on how to weave creative activities into the choral rehearsal—from warm-ups to sight-singing to repertoire rehearsal. When creative activities are woven into daily classroom routines, they don't need to be a separate project or a "break" from regular choral activities. Come lean into the magic of choral creativity!
