Inclusive Strategies for Elementary Music: Creating a Classroom for Every Learner
Friday, January 23, 2026
2:00 PM - 2:45 PM
Description
Every student, regardless of ability or background, deserves a meaningful and engaging music education. In this session, we’ll explore how to create an inclusive music classroom where all learners—whether they have cognitive impairments, autism, emotional impairments, or diverse learning styles—can succeed and thrive.
Drawing from my experience working closely with my special education team, we’ve transformed our elementary music program to ensure that all students, with or without an aide, can participate and thrive in lessons and performances. We’ll discuss adaptable lesson ideas, differentiation strategies, and performance planning techniques to support every student, from the classroom to the stage. This session will provide you with the tools and confidence to create an inclusive music environment where every learner can engage, create, and shine.
