Rhett has worked in agriculture all his life starting on the family farm. Following undergraduate studies he was a graduate research assistant at Washington State University where he earned a PhD working with potato variety development. Rhett worked for several years for McCain Foods in Burley, ID before joining the faculty at the University of Idaho as the Potato Variety Development Specialist.
