This session will examine the concept of Trauma Informed Care as a framework to practice successful Casemanagement. Trauma Informed Care is considered one of the “gold standards” as a basis of understanding in clinical and casemanagement practice. Trauma in life experiences can often be the foundation for client’s issues and challenges. Trauma Informed Care will be discussed through the Bio/Psycho/Social/Spiritual/Cultural lens, examining the basic neurology of trauma and its effect on the total person. In addition, this session will explore ways to incorporate Trauma Informed Care in Casemanagement practice.
