Name
Improving LGBTQ+ Visibility Through Coordinated Entry
Description

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer/questioning (LGBTQ+) youth are overrepresented among the population of youth experiencing homelessness, with up to 40% of youth experiencing homelessness in the United States identifying as LGBTQ+. Additionally, LGBTQ+ individuals of all ages face a particular set of severe barriers to housing and wellness including social stigma, discrimination, and rejection by their families, in addition to the physical and mental health challenges of homelessness. Participants will learn how Coordinated Entry can best support the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals accessing both shelter and housing services.
