Local Public Health: Partnerships in Shelter and Housing
Description

The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted the delivery of services to the homeless and has reinforced the need for flexible and responsive partnerships. To better serve this vulnerable population, now and in the future, local public health departments have built adaptable and lasting relationships with shelters and housing providers to improve services beyond this current crisis.  Join this session to hear representatives from two local health departments describe partnerships they’ve created and expanded and their efforts to protect and improve the health and safety of people experiencing homelessness.  Hear about the role of local health departments in our communities beyond their COVID-19 response and learn strategies for strengthening your relationship with your local health department.
