Jamie Taylor, PhD, Founder and Director of the Shared Housing Institute, has been providing technical assistance on system planning, evaluation, and data utilization to improve policy and program planning for over 25 years. Working for federal, state and local agencies on ending homelessness initiatives, Dr. Taylor provides expertise on the structural determinants of homelessness, leading a multi-site national shared housing learning collaborative to build system-wide capacities that increase housing options to prevent and end homelessness. Currently working with San Francisco, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, San Bernardino County and the State of Connecticut on system-wide shared housing networks, Dr. Taylor has also worked with Napa County, Los Angeles, and Santa Cruz on system-level housing initiatives to end homelessness. Dr. Taylor was also the homelessness Subject Matter Expert for a national evaluation to assess impacts of housing and shared medical appointment treatment for people who experience long term homelessness, and substance use disorders, and lead the development of a Data to Action Training curriculum to build capacities for data-driven decision making; and helped lead national technical assistance efforts for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) homeless assistance programs for over 10 years.
