Jennifer Lucarelli
Jennifer Lucarelli, PhD is an Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Her scholarly work centers around the translational of best practices in local communities and evaluating the efficacy of innovative ideas in community health. Utilizing community-based participatory approaches, she integrates policy, systems, and environmental perspectives utilizing multi stakeholder collaborative initiatives. She utilizes qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to design, implement, and evaluate interventions that utilize the principles of health behavior theories. She has served as a founding Co-Chair of the Healthy Pontiac, We Can! Coalition from 2011-2022, and engaged in strategic planning efforts with actionable priorities that have received extensive more than million in funding support. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she helped to launch the My COVID Response project in Oakland County, which coordinated emergency food delivery to thousands of households in need. This work increased her awareness and connections to local housing insecurity efforts, and she now serves as a Co-Chair for the Oakland County Task Force on Poverty and Homelessness. Her talents as a convener has helped bring together diverse stakeholders to examine current gaps and opportunities to improve housing systems and services to the most vulnerable populations, prioritizing the voices and stories of those with lived experience. She is truly honored to share her knowledge with the stakeholders in attendance.
