Nicholas Cook
Nick Cook is a seasoned policy and legislative strategist with over a decade of experience shaping impactful public policy at both state and federal levels. He most recently served as Chief of Staff to Michigan State Senator Sylvia Santana, advising on Health and Veterans Affairs and contributing to key decisions on the Senate Appropriations Committee for the Department of Health and Human Services. A U.S. Army veteran, Nick served 13 years in active duty, culminating in a leadership role in the Army Office of the Chief, Legislative Liaison. His military service sparked a lifelong commitment to public service, particularly in advancing veterans’ issues and supporting underserved communities. Since transitioning to civilian life, Nick has worked across public and private sectors on criminal justice reform, Medicaid policy, and housing stability. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from West Point and a Master of Professional Studies in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University.
