Eric Meade is an award-winning author, futurist, and facilitator. He has led strategic engagements for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Colorado Health Foundation, the Open Government Partnership, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Department of the Interior, the National Association of Community Health Centers, and numerous other clients. He is a past Board Chair of the World Future Society, the oldest and largest membership organization devoted to the systematic study of the future. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he launched the "Beyond COVID" podcast and website to help organizations and communities plan their way out of the pandemic. He teaches a graduate course on strategic planning at American University’s School of International Service in Washington, DC. He has published articles in Federal Times, the Stanford Social Innovation Review, the Futurist, World Future Review, and elsewhere. He is the author of two books: Reframing Poverty, and Whole Mind Facilitation: How to Lead Workshops That Change People, Organizations, and the World. Previously, Eric served as vice president and senior futurist at the Institute for Alternative Futures, as a sourcing executive in China for U.S. toy manufacturer Melissa & Doug, Inc., and as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy. He has an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Virginia. He is a certified practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and of the EverythingDiSC assessment.
