Karla Weaver is a distinguished strategist in the Chief Research Office at Sandia National Laboratories. She has orchestrated multiple corporate and program strategy efforts, guiding teams of executives, senior management, and senior staff to develop and implement corporate strategic priorities, academic programs strategies, Laboratory Directed Research & Development (LDRD) strategies, and technical roadmaps. Karla was pivotal in defining a metrics-based management framework adopted by the Laboratories’ LDRD and Academic Alliance programs. Before joining Sandia National Laboratories in 2006, Karla spent nearly nine years at the New Mexico Boys & Girls Ranch Foundation where she served as the Development Director devising and implementing new strategic and tactical fundraising directions.
