Anna Shires is the Vice President, Associate Director of Community Investment Outreach at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis and is based in Detroit. In this role, she works closely with financial institutions and affordable housing stakeholders to design impactful initiatives as well as increase housing investment across the state of Michigan. Prior to joining the Bank in 2020, Shires was the Manager of Housing Development for the City of Detroit, where she was charged with investing the City’s affordable housing dollars into transformative housing projects. Shires also serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Advisory Council, Detroit Mayor Sheffield’s Housing Transition Committee, and the Terrance R. Duvernay Michigan Housing Award Committee. Shires holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Michigan.
