Allison Akbay is the owner and operator of Snapping Turtle Farm a certified organic mixed vegetable operation in Cranbury, New Jersey. The farm specializes in direct sales of produce to the public via deliveries to customer's homes and sales at regional farmers' markets. She has recently been expanding into growing South Asian vegetables to cater to the increasing ethnic diversity of the region. Allison is the daughter of agronomist and soil scientist Dr. Harry Motto who taught at Cook college at Rutgers for many years and inspired her commitment to improving soil fertility while also preserving the environment. Allison was involved in the local organic food movement in the San Francisco Bay Area before switching careers and returning to New Jersey to start Snapping Turtle Farm.
