Can We Try a Different Mallet?

Description

The sound production of percussion instruments and the overall sound of an ensemble can be greatly impacted by the right or wrong choice of mallet. This session will offer a demonstration of a variety of mallets for standard percussion instruments (B.D., timpani, accessories and melody percussion) with discussion about which materials, shape and weight can work best in a given circumstance. This will give directors and conductors the necessary information to make the best mallet choices for their ensembles.
