Joshua W. Neuenschwander is the Director of Bands and Orchestra at Cornell College, where he conducts the Wind Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra and teaches courses in the music department. Dr. Neuenschwander holds the Doctor of Musical Arts in Wind Conducting from the University of Iowa, Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Oakland University, and Bachelor of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music. His principal conducting teachers include Dr. Richard Mark Heidel, Dr. Eric Bush, and Dr. Gregory Cunningham.
In addition to his appointment at Cornell, Dr. Neuenschwander serves as the Director of Bands (Adjunct) at Grinnell College. Previously, he has worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the University of Iowa Bands, and as a band teacher in the Avondale and Haslett school districts in Michigan. He is also the previous Artistic Director of the Iowa City New Horizons Band.
Dr. Neuenschwander maintains an active schedule as a conductor and music educator. He holds memberships in the College Band Directors National Association, the National Band Association, the National Association for Music Education, the Iowa Bandmasters Association, and the Iowa Music Educators Association.
