Adam Light, AICP-CUD is a transportation planner and urban designer, serving as Senior Director for LA Metro's Systemwide Design team in the Countywide Planning Department,  Over the past decade, Adam's team has developed, and is implementing and continually refining, Metro's modular and highly-integrated Systemwide Station Design Standards, which have set a new industry benchmark for desiging rail and BRT station public areas.  
Adam previously served as Planning & Approvals Coordinator and Urban Design Lead for the Toronto Transit Commission's (TTC's) Line 1 Extension, coordinating the development of innovative and highly integrated and sustainable station siting and urban design interface for new transit-oriented communities. 
Adam has also served as Manager, as well as Urban Design and Preservation Specialist, for the San Francisco Planning Department Downtown Neighborhood Planning unit, developing urban design and architectural guidelines for residential infill development, storefront design, and window replacements; designating historic landmarks; leading urban infill development design reviews for all scales of projects, from small multi-unit buildings, adaptive reuse of large historic buildings, and large downtown mixed-use high-rises interfacing with major transit facilities.  
Earlier in his career, Adam worked as an urban planner and designer for the New York Department of City Planning Transportation Division (Columbus Circle redesign and Lower Manhattan sidewalk widening) and the City of Rockville, Maryland Planning Department (King Farm New Urbanist Transit-Oriented Development).
