Marie Sheehan (she/hers) is a Justice Catalyst fellow at Street Democracy, a founding member of the Coalition for Property Tax Justice. As a fellow, Marie runs the Property Tax Appeal Projects in Detroit and Chicago. The Detroit program has assisted over 180 homeowners through the tax appeals process, correcting their assessments and helping them avoid tax foreclosure. Marie also works with the Coalition's working group focused on stopping the over assessment of property taxes. Marie graduated from Michigan Law in 2021, where she was on the board of Outlaws and helped start PTAP with Professor Bernadette Atuahene and Professor Andrea Van Hoven.
