Ms. Alspaugh is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Architecture at Ann Arbor receiving her Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree in 1993. She has 27+ years of residential design and construction experience from affordable housing to high-end, multi-unit to single family, elderly & accessible housing, and historic preservation.

In February of 2009, Ms. Alspaugh formed her sole-practitioner firm of aMa-Architecture, Inc. which believes that good design & architectural services should be affordable and accessible to everyone. Project types include new construction, additions, renovations, rehabilitation, historical/landmark preservation, modular housing, porches & decks, garages, code compliance and ADA design + retrofitting. She has also worked on 35+ private residences and buildings in Pullman, from small projects to full restorations.

Ms. Alspaugh is a founding member and a former Board President of PullmanArts which is in the Pullman Historic district / Pullman National Monument on the far south side of Chicago. PullmanArts is dedicated to protect, preserve and promote Pullman as a unique artisan neighborhood and a city, state and national treasure. As board member, she also volunteered her professional time as development partner, along with Artspace, Inc & CNI, on the Pullman Artspace Lofts project, from it’s grassroots start through construction finish, a 9-year endeavor.

In addition, Ms. Alspaugh has lived with her husband (and three cats) in the Pullman for 12-years, volunteers her talents & experience as an active member of The Beman Committee of the Pullman Civic Organization, currently working on documenting the historic facades in the north end of historic Pullman, a continuation of the Façade Legacy Project, a John Bair Award of Stewardship in Historic Preservation from Chicago Landmarks in 2014.
