Maureen Anway joined Invest Detroit as an Associate of Neighborhoods in April 2017 where she was responsible for building relationships with local neighborhood organizations and managing the Participatory Budgeting process in Southwest Detroit. In 2019, Maureen created the Community Engagement Grant Program for the Strategic Neighborhood Fund to support Detroit developers and CDOs with grants to strengthen SNF-funded real estate projects through the creation and implementation of community engagement strategies. In 2020, she managed the launch of the Property Owner Renter Relief Fund, which provided grants to property owners to cover rent concessions made to Detroit small businesses who were unable to pay their rent as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2022, Maureen was promoted to her current position, Vice President of Neighborhoods, where she continues to manage the Community Engagement Grant Program, manage the launches of new Invest Detroit initiatives, and supports the evaluation team measuring Invest Detroit’s organizational impact.
