Vanessa Samuelson oversees strategic learning and grant reporting for the McGregor Fund in Detroit, MI. In this role, Vanessa works alongside grant partners and community collaborations on learning efforts that prioritize equity, consumer voice and inclusion, and system transformation. Prior to joining the McGregor Fund, Vanessa worked with non-profit organizations, collaborative initiatives, and government entities to develop data systems and learning practices to strengthen policy and program decision-making within the social sector. A native of Chicago, Vanessa earned Bachelor of Science degrees in computer science and French from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in community and regional planning from the University of Oregon. In addition to her work, she enjoys spending time with her two children and husband and getting outside as much as possible.
