Kelsea Hector (she/they) is the Executive Director of Punks With Lunch Lansing, a harm reduction organization serving people who use drugs and people experiencing homelessness across mid-Michigan. Under her leadership, PWLL has grown 4x in size. It has expanded into Eaton, Barry, Shiawassee, and rural Ingham County, launched a Quick Response Team for post-overdose outreach, and grown its peer recovery support, in-house HIV testing, and health navigation services. They recently put a mobile shower and laundry trailer on the road. Kelsea brings lived experience of substance use that began in young adolescence, about ten years in recovery, and has experienced many personal losses to addiction. A former classroom teacher with a degree in education, she trains providers, first responders, and community members on harm reduction, Narcan, de-escalation, reducing stigma, and the community-centered peer first model of public services.
