Colleen Cartwright

Colleen Cartwright is a teaching artist, educator and project manager with over 20 years of experience guiding teenagers and young adults through the process and power of creative expression and collaborative transformation. She has broadened her education and experience through work in public administration/local bureaucracy, juvenile justice, theatre/arts administration, theatre directing, healthcare (pediatric TBI rehabilitation and medical education), youth ministry, public education, writing and stage performance, and youth homelessness systems improvement. Colleen is an advocate for youth voice, youth-centered work and youth-led spaces. She has a BA in Theatre and Public Administration and a Secondary Teaching Certificate in English, Social Studies and Theatre, both from SVSU. Colleen has facilitated workshops for TechTown Detroit, Crain’s Business Detroit, Matrix Theatre Company, Go!Comedy, and the Michigan Association for Evaluation. She currently travels and camps regularly in her beloved Subaru, Juniper. On her travels, she enjoys exploring good places, meeting good people, eating good food, finding good live music, reading good books and sitting in her hammock under good trees.
