Jeana Dunlap is an urbanist, strategic advisor, recovering economist, and facilitator born, reared and currently based in Louisville, Kentucky. Jeana believes that changing mindsets and facilitating change through the built and natural environment are paramount to achieving vibrant lifestyles and communities. She is passionate about economic justice, cultural & historic preservation and digital equity. Jeana’s local government experience includes working on affordable housing finance and infrastructure improvements in support of the Liberty Green HOPE VI and Sheppard Square HOPE VI projects. In 2014, Jeana established the Vacant & Public Property Administration and collaborated with the Bloomberg Innovation Delivery Team to design interventions that reduce vacancy and abandonment in Louisville, Kentucky. These include Louisville’s first vacant lot redevelopment competition co-sponsored by the Louisville-Jefferson County Landbank Authority and the RSquared: Reuse and Revitalization community design initiative. Formerly, as director of Redevelopment Strategies, Dunlap leveraged multidisciplinary approaches to reverse disinvestment trends by promoting digital inclusion, housing choice, resilience and cultural preservation as part of the Russell Choice Neighborhoods Initiatives (CNI) and redevelopment at the Beecher Terrace public housing site. Jeana is a native Louisvillian and holds a Master of Science in Economics and a Master of Public Policy & Administration, both from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Louisville.
