Charlevoix County Housing Ready Program Director
Steve Schnell has been working in the field of planning in Northern Michigan for over twenty years. Steve was most recently the Community and Economic Development Senior Planner for the Northeast Michigan Council of Governments. With experience working at the Village, County, and regional level to create innovative partnerships, Steve is now focused on creating housing opportunities in the communities of Charlevoix County. In his position as the Charlevoix County Housing Ready Program Director with Housing North, Steve coordinates local housing initiatives and provides assistance in the development process of affordable and attainable workforce housing.
Steve is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners and recently served on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Association of Planning. He has a master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University.
