Rosalie Maloney is a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe located on the Isabella Reservation in Mt. Pleasant, MI. After graduating from Central Michigan University in 1996 she has worked for her tribe in various roles for 21 years. Before her current position as Housing Manager she spent 12 years at the tribe’s assisted living facility providing congregate housing and supportive services to tribal elders. Rosalie was also a member of the team bringing the Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture & Lifeways to fruition. As Housing Manager she manages an inventory of rental housing on behalf of the tribe and administers the Indian Housing Block Grant. The most recent venture is constructing a 16 unit permanent supportive housing facility to address homelessness on the reservation. Rosalie believes that housing is a basic need and all Anishinabek people deserve a safe and culturally appropriate place to live that promotes and safeguards each person’s dignity and life journey.
