Sherita joined Cinnaire’s Detroit office as VP, Community Development, responsible for implementing Cinnaire’s targeted investment strategy for Detroit by building relationships with local partners to advance Cinnaire’s Community Connection initiatives. In 2022 she was promoted to Senior Vice President, Community Connection, collaborating with all business functions to develop equitable development strategies across all Cinnaire business lines.
Sherita has a long history serving Detroit neighborhoods with more than 20 years of affordable housing and community development expertise. She has spent her career advocating for change has a deep understanding of community revitalization and financing structures necessary to advance our vision for healthy, sustainable communities where families and businesses thrive. Current efforts include implementing innovative homeownership strategies for low-income families, expanding access to capital and business opportunities for women and developers of color, and creating public/private partnership solutions to address vacant, blighted single-family properties in middle neighborhoods.
Sherita has a BA in Political Science from Wayne State University and a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She serves on the executive committees of Detroit CDFI Coalition and Detroit Residents First Fund, on the boards of Sidewalk Detroit, U of M’s Center for Equitable Family and Community Well-Being, and Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance.
