Social Equity Advocate | Affordable Housing & Community Development Leader

Marria McIntosh is the Founder and President/CEO of Thredz.org, a 501(c)(3) Community Building Corporation based in Muskegon County, Michigan, committed to empowering and preserving historically marginalized communities by amplifying resident voice and expanding equitable pathways to homeownership, entrepreneurship, and community-led investment.

Founded in 2021 as Coalition: 3N1Community, Marria’s work began as a grassroots response to displacement pressures and neighborhood rezoning that threatened local control and long-term stability. That early organizing evolved into Thredz’s broader mission: countering the negative effects of gentrification through resident-centered solutions, strategic partnerships, and measurable outcomes.

Through Thredz, Marria leads the organization’s flagship initiatives including:
• Pathways to Homeownership (P2H) – supporting renters and working families through readiness, credit restoration, and long-term housing stability
• 3N1Community Development & Land Trust Initiatives– advancing permanent affordability and community-controlled development
• Thredz Y3 (Educate, Empower & Engage) – a youth leadership pipeline equipping young people with civic, professional, and wealth-building tools

Marria brings both lived experience and systems-level leadership to her work, serving across regional housing and equity efforts including the West Michigan Regional Housing Plan Taskforce, Muskegon Homeless Continuum of Care Network, and multiple governance boards committed to community impact and accountability.

Marria holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Cornerstone University and is a proud graduate of the Women Empowered to Build (WE Build) Developer Program, preparing her to drive equity-centered development strategies with integrity and excellence.
