Jason Blain is a First Vice President, Senior Commercial Banker at Independent Bank. In this role, Jason leads Independent Bank’s focus on community development lending and tax credit equity investments through the Bank’s wholly owned subsidiary, Independent Community Capital, LLC. In addition, Jason also helps developers access Affordable Housing Program grants from FHLBank Indianapolis. He has spent the majority of his 18-year banking career focused on historic preservation and affordable housing developments throughout Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. In 2025, Jason was recognized for his contributions to affordable housing in the State of Michigan by being awarded the FHLBank Indianapolis Community Spirit Award. Jason serves on the Michigan Historic Preservation Network Preservation Incentives Committee, the Kent County Revolving Loan Committee and volunteers as a youth hockey coach. He is a graduate of Michigan State University (MBA) and Lake Superior State University (Finance and Economics).
