Jess Solis is a Project Consultant at SME with nearly a decade of experience navigating economic development incentives across West Michigan. At SME, Jess leads environmental due diligence projects for creative developments and has catalyzed numerous housing and mixed-use projects through innovative funding and incentive strategies spanning Brownfield TIF, MEDC and MSHDA programs, and beyond. Prior to SME, she spent six years with the City of Grand Rapids managing brownfield redevelopment, tax abatements, and grant programs, shepherding dozens of projects through local and state approval processes. Jess holds a B.A. in Communications and Public Relations and an M.A. in Public Administration, both from Grand Valley State University, and is a credentialed Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP). A rural Ionia County resident, Jess has a deep passion for helping emerging developers and smaller communities unlock their full potential.
