Shannon has always had a passion for place. As a mother of two boys, one with Autism she understands the importance of community and home. A housing expert and experienced leader, Shannon has worked in building, rehabilitation and development within urban areas and rural main streets in numerous states throughout the country. In her 25-year career, she has completed over 20,000 units of housing and has worked on award winning projects that have redefined the built environment. During the housing crisis, Shannon collaborated with legislators and municipalities throughout Michigan and Ohio to help create solutions through the Neighborhood Stabilization Programs. She is currently the Managing Partner and Co-founder of Renovare Development, a woman-owned social impact development company based in Detroit, MI.
Shannon was inducted into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame in 2021, was the recipient of the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award for Redevelopment in Brownfield on behalf of the Center for Creative Land Recycling and was the Affordable Housing Developer of the Year on behalf of LOCUS and Smart Growth America in 2018. Shannon serves on numerous boards including, the National Steering Committee for LOCUS/Smart Growth America, the Technical Assistance Advisory Council for the MEDC, The Housing Plan Partner Advisory Council for MSHDA, The Urban Land Institute MI Advisory Board, and the Michigan Sense of Place Council
