Conceptual Learning in Multi-Age Classrooms

Many elementary teaching situations require music teachers to combine more than a single grade or experience level into one class. While the leadership and peer teaching opportunities may be enhanced in these environments, it can be difficult to progress students through a conceptual sequence that provides adequate skill preparation for lower-grade-level students, and still introducing upper-grade-level students to more advanced skills at the same time.
