Description
While privilege is a controversial topic, it is imbued in daily social interactions and present in the way people navigate social institutions (schools, government agencies, hospitals, etc.). This workshop seeks to discuss what privilege is and how it manifests itself in music education. This is done with the hope that we as music educators can develop classroom ideas that help cultivate environments in which all students feel valued for the experiences that shape their musical identities.
