Latasha Thomas-Durrell is currently a PhD student in music education at Michigan State University, where she assists with and teaches music education courses as well as supervises music education student teachers. Her research interests include LGBTQ issues in music education and music education and social justice. Prior to beginning her studies at MSU, Latasha held teaching positions in Tennessee, where she taught general music and band classes. Latasha holds a MM in Music Performance from the University of Central Arkansas and a MM in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She holds a BM in Music Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
