Michael King currently serves as Assistant Director of Bands at BGSU. Primary responsibilities include providing artistic direction for numerous ensembles made up of graduate students, undergraduate students, and non-music majors. He serves as a member of the Music Education Faculty, where he has taught undergraduate conducting and repertoire courses and currently supervises pre-service teachers and teaches music education methods courses. Prior to teaching at the collegiate level, he taught middle and high school band in the Texas Public Schools. He has written for the Teaching Music Through Performance in Band Series published by GIA, as well as School Band & Orchestra Magazine.
