Natalie is an urban strategist and economist with over 15 years of experience in community development. Her work blends analysis, institutional insights, and community input to improve the impact and transparency of governments and nonprofits. She provides a range of services in planning, design, research, evaluation, and communications. She works largely with government and nonprofit organizations.
Her work centers on community development, housing, urban resilience, vacant property adaptation, public land management, land banking, green infrastructure, and real estate valuation and taxation. Natalie has led the development and implementation of bold programs and projects. She is the author of nationally recognized plans. Much of Natalie’s work is devoted to creating data-driven planning products that prioritize transparency and improving quality of life. She has authored several policy reports and academic papers, including publications on municipal finance and tax foreclosure. Her planning, policy, and research is grounded by extensive experience working with grassroots organizations and community-based groups. Natalie holds a Master of Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from the James Madison College at Michigan State University. She is currently completing a PhD in urban economics at the London School of Economics and Political science where her research centers on urban housing and resilience. She is a proud native of Flint, Michigan.
