ClearPoint Strategy has abstracted and anonymized eight years of usage data to create one of the most comprehensive datasets on strategy execution available today. Spanning 20,000+ strategic plans, this dataset reveals how organizations truly operate: who owns objectives, how often teams report, when projects actually start and finish, how frequently updates are completed, and where execution slows down or gains momentum. It’s a rare, empirical look inside the mechanics of real strategy work—well beyond what surveys or case studies can show.
This plenary session will present the standout trends emerging from this analysis: shifts in reporting discipline, changes in project workloads, the rise of new strategic themes, and patterns that signal whether an organization is gaining or losing momentum during transformation. We’ll compare behaviors across sectors—government, healthcare, higher education, utilities, nonprofits, and corporate environments—to highlight which practices consistently support sustained progress.
To bring these findings to life, a panel of senior leaders from the International Association for Strategy Professionals will join the discussion. These experienced practitioners will react to the data, unpack why these trends may be emerging, and offer grounded insights on what the strategy profession needs to pay attention to over the next several years.
The goal is simple: give strategy professionals a clear, evidence-based view of what’s actually happening inside thousands of plans—and what that means for leading transformation with confidence. Attendees will leave with a sharper understanding of today’s execution realities and practical takeaways they can bring directly into their organizations.
