Description

Sustaining strategic momentum requires more than a well-crafted plan. In this joint session, Tim Kist and Meg Gassanov explore why momentum so often fades after strategy approval — and what strategists, planners, and leaders can do to keep it alive. Tim will focus on the execution side of the challenge, examining the common “momentum leaks” that undermine implementation, such as unclear priorities, competing demands, weak resourcing, leadership misalignment, and the lack of an effective cadence for review and follow-through. Meg will build on this by exploring how evaluative thinking can help strategists and clients understand whether they are truly on track, distinguish visible activity from meaningful progress, and create space for learning and adaptation as implementation unfolds. Together, their talks offer a practical and complementary perspective on how to move beyond the strategy deck and support the discipline, insight, and responsiveness needed to turn strategic intent into sustained progress.
