James Stockmal is the owner of SK Partners, a small independent management consultancy based in Washington, DC. In addition to his more than 30 years of experience, Jim has certifications in organization development, change management, facilitation, team building and strategy management. Jim has worked across a wide spectrum of industries including banking, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and consultancies. Jim loves to teach and help his clients develop and execute strategic transformation through the integration of people-focused, process-oriented, and technology-enabled initiatives. Jim’s clients include Pfizer, GSK, Ciba-Geigy, Royal Bank of Canada, Australian New Zealand Bank, CitiCorp, Chase, Flagstar Bank, US Bank, Aetna, Ford Motor Company, Sears, and Exxon Mobil. Mr. Stockmal authors articles on organizational development, leadership, strategy, organizational transformation, and cyber security for The Strategic Edge, a publication of the International Association for Strategy Professionals (IASP.) Jim is co-lead author of IASP’s Body of Knowledge 3.0, and he was elected to IASP’s Hall of Fame in 2021.
Jim teaches the Strategic Management Performance System (SMPS) in conjunction with LBL Strategies and George Washington University’s Center for Excellence in Public Leadership (CEPL.) Jim also teaches the Mastering Agile Organizational Design program for CEPL. When at Deloitte, Jim taught their business development process and system as well as their interviewing executives program. Over the years, Jim has trained five thousand adult learners in the areas of strategy, process improvement, change management, and organizational development. Jim has been a reviewer of Cafritz Award nominations prior to the pandemic.
