Description

Senior Housing Preservation-Detroit (SHP-D) and City of Detroit Housing and Revitalization Department (HRD) have organized panel that will discuss the challenges and best practices learned while renovating multi-family senior housing units during a pandemic. We will discuss: * how Covid affected the work; * How developers/owners, their partners and residents responded; * What works/what didn't; * and other emerging questions. Panelists will include SHP-D members Volunteers of America, CSI Support & Development, Develop Detroit and Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, along with O'Brien Construction and the City of Detroit HRD. The session should be of interest to owners/developers of housing undergoing rehab, property managers, public health and affordable housing advocates particularly those working with seniors. The panel and discussion will use the case studies to highlight "do's and don'ts" in renovating housing with public health concerns at the forefront.
