Description

Low-income owner-occupied homes can have a very long list of desperately needed repairs. Many available assistance programs offer limited capital intended for preconceived outcomes. A more comprehensive approach acknowledges the reality that every household is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. An inclusive “whole-household” assessment can help to identify, rank, and prioritize repairs based on risks and threats to safety and health to utilize limited resources for resolving the most important and urgent repairs first. This session will examine lessons learned and stories captured in two repair programs developed and implemented in Michigan.
