Your Program, Your Kids, and Yourself: Navigating a Fulfilling Career Teaching in Title 1 Schools

Saturday, January 30, 2021
3:00 PM - 3:45 PM

Description
Music teachers within under-resourced schools are often asked to put the success of their programs, students, and schools before their own well-being. Burnout and stress are a common result. This session will feature a panel of Title 1 music teachers discussing the ways they have learned to advocate for the resources their students deserve, dismantle deficit thinking, develop responsive teaching strategies that better serve their communities, and work to take care of their own well-being.
