Dr. Marja Kerney is an Instructor of Music at Western Michigan University. She earned her BM from Michigan State University and MM and DMA from University of Missouri-Kansas City. As a new music collaborator and chamber musician, Kerney has worked with composers including Chen Yi, Sydney Hodkinson, and Baljinder Sekhon, and has performed with many professional orchestral ensembles and as a pit percussionist in more than a dozen musicals. Previous faculty appointments include Kennesaw State University, Stetson University, Bethune-Cookman University, and Seminole State College. Kerney is a longtime member of the Percussive Arts Society, currently serving on the University Pedagogy Committee.
