*Children as Storytellers: Creating and Supporting Student Agency in Music Learning and Play

Imagination in music play. That’s what children bring to the experience. This session will explore the possibilities of children as the creative driving force of our early childhood music play interactions, without breaking the lesson plan. Attendees will engage with literature regarding student agency, participate in activities designed for impromptu story, and be able to confidently create space in their lessons for student-driven experiences and narratives.
