Rachel Cabanilla-Sinnett is the orchestra director at Upton Middle School in St. Joseph, MI where she teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th grade orchestras as well as 6th and 7th woodwinds. She has taught a wide range of K-12 subjects including Orchestra, Band, General Music, Choir, Theory, and Spanish. Rachel began musical studies at age five on piano, and violin lessons at age seven from the Western Springs School of Talent Education. Rachel attended Andrews University where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education ('01) and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish ('00). She also has a Masters Degree with dual emphasis in String Pedagogy and Music Education from Northwestern University ('07).
